[ivfdf-news] Re: YES 2007 - Who? What? Where? When?

On behalf of Sheffield CeilidhSoc:

In response to Andrew's request for what society positions are for
organising IVFDF 2007.

We as a society are in a strong position attendance wise at ceilidh
events; however the organising committee itself is in a particularly weak
state at present.
We have very few students on the current ceilidhsoc committee (only just
legitimate in the eyes of the University) and it looks very likely we will
be in a similar position at the election of a new committee in a few weeks
time. The likelihood of being able to support an IVFDF organisation
committee and the Ceilidhsoc committee in the forthcoming couple of years
is low; especially given the huge efforts put in by the 2003 crew.

We feel that until the organisational side of Sheffield Ceilidhsoc is in a
stronger position Sheffield will not be able to host IVFDF. This
effectively rules us out of hosting 2007 given the lead time required to
organise the event.

Regards,

Owain Lewis
Sheffield Ceilidhsoc Secretary.
