Just to say, well done to Andrew and the team from Cambridge - another great
IVFDF

All the bands involved really played their socks off, and a great atmosphere
was created. It was the first time that most of our crowd had heard Stomp
and Boka Halat, and people went away very impressed, but for sheer
virtuosity on their chosen instrument the prize has to go to the wonderful
Brian Stone who just makes that fiddle sing.

However, my personal highlight (because it was so unexpected) was Changling
- how a two piece band can make such a big sound is beyond me - couple that
with a room of excellent dancers (including the delectable Nell and Brenda -
those who danced with them will know what I mean !) and a superb caller -
perfection !

All the Exeter crowd enjoyed themselves, already bombarding me with requests
to do all sorts of different things on our regular society nights.

The organisation that goes into making IVFDF so special is often overlooked
- the complexities of putting on a festival in a different venue each year
with a completely different set of organisers .... most festivals would
baulk at the challenge! It is great testament to Andrew and his team that
once again everything seemed to go so smoothly - the only gripe I heard was
about catering, but hey, why spend time eating when there is such great
dancing and music to be had.

A brilliant weekend - thank you from all at Exeter.
