IVFDF 2006 is in its final stages of preparation, and we are really excited
about the event. It's going to be an amazing weekend.
24th-26th of February
Netherhall School and Sixth Form College
Cambridge
You have until the end of the month to get your £2 discount on weekend
tickets (normal price £22 waged, £15 unwaged) and to order T-shirts in your
chosen size and colour, so get those applications in now. All you could
ever want to know, including an event and provisional workshop timetable,
is available on the website at:

The event is being held in two schools (lower school and upper school)
across the road from one another, giving us everything on one site while at
the same time providing seven good-sized workshop venues. All the evening
events will be in the upper school:

Contra Dance with Changeling, 5 till 7.30
Scottish Country Dance with The Sensational Jimi Shandrix Experience,
6.30 till 10
Ceilidh with Junction 24, 7.30 till 11
Roots Ceilidh with Boka Halat 8.30, till midnight
Late night music with Sandy Brechin
One of the most comprehensive workshop programmes you will see at a folk
festival this year. Over 40 workshops, including:
Scottish conversion course, Irish Set, Kentucky running set, Broom dance,
Ukranian dance, Playing in a session, Beginners' Scottish country dance,
Percussive improvisation, Square dancing, Tahitian dance, Scandinavian
dance, Singing, Intermediate Scottish country dance, A chance to dance,
Playford, Bharata Natyam, Cajun, Equal Ops for Callers, Irish step, Border
morris, French dance, Extended contra, Storytelling forum, Law dance and
licencing, Circle dance, Cotswold morris, Flatfooting, Welsh dance, Circus
skills, Scratch band, Ladies' step, Getting Jiggy with Jameson (Morris
jigs), Fiddle, Appalachian, Historical dance, Georgian singing, Highland,
Rapper, Maypole dance, Calling, plus more still to be confirmed.
NEW for 2006: a full programme of sessions led by experts in their field:
Beginners' session, Contra session, Singaround, Scottish & Irish session,
French session, English session.
A Morris tour of historic Cambridge (please e-mail morris at ivfdf.ucam.org if
you intend to bring a team).
Entertainment in the bar on Friday evening courtesy of Karmadillo.
Sensibly priced proper food, and real ale bar courtesy of one of the best
independent pubs in Cambridge.
Indoor camping segregated from workshop venues.
And of course, the people and atmosphere that make IVFDF so special!
