To whom it may concern; can you please take me off this group email? I'd
only asked to go as I wanted to know where the next IVFDF would be, and I
don't really want to see all the correspondence!
Thanks very much
Wendy Williamson

Subject: [ivfdf-news] Sheffied's Local Scene
There is some concern of Sheffield's reliance on our local scene as part of
ticket sales for IVFDF. In this e-mail I am hoping to calm any fears. Our
budget does assume a certain number local sales, but they are not there just
to help our figures add up, it includes them because it's the most accurate
conservative prediction we can make.
To somebody out side of Sheffield it's hard to get a grasp on how large the
local scene is, last time I looked Shefifeld CeilidhSoc had over 500
members, and then there is the non-student or nolonger student folk scene.
We know our local ticket sales will be strong because of the line-up we
have, we run a ceilidh every other week in term time with very strong
attendance.
If your not a Sheffield person (and I know most you are not) it's difficult
to believe how large that scene is, particularly for the smaller societies,
but we know our audience, and our ticket sales figures will no doubt be
larger than the budgeted ones.
John
